Barre3 is the best and I especially love the community at the bham studio! Each of the instructors bring their own expertise and is such a well-rounded workout. I love all of the class options and look forward to working out.

I cannot say enough good things about this Barre3 team. I started attending classes when I was 1 year postpartum with my first. After my first class I knew it was the right space for my body and mind. The uplifting community can't be matched.

★★★★★ — Cirena, May 2026

Each time I take class, I feel like I have had such a well rounded exercise experience, and I use new muscles I didn’t know I had, but definitely feel them the next day!! Amazing and motivating instructors who leave me feeling more positive and stronger after each class.

★★★★★ — Meagan, Nov 2024

Started Barre3 on a whim and I’m so grateful to be able to go weekly. The facility is beautiful, the signature (my top jam) leaves me feeling mentally and physically empowered and the instructors are stunning women. I’ve never felt so welcomed, encouraged and inspired!

Your first barre class at barre3

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
