From the reviews
After 15 classes (with about 3 weeks absence in between classes) I continue to feel encouraged to honor mind and body. A few shifts occurred since class 1, 2 and 3. I recognize some of the regulars, deepen my understanding of what I can do and learn some more about personal barriers and strengths.
I was 7 month postpartum from my boy/girl twins (who are now 14 months) when I started Barre3 last year! I was finally getting some relief with a smidge more sleep! I heard about Barre3 from a coworker and I'm always up for trying new fitness classes, especially being a fitness professional myself.
I am trying new gyms thanks to a service I am trying out. Barre3 was one of the studios nearby that I wanted to try. I never had been to a Barre class before but they took the time to introduce me to the instructor and make sure I was set up properly for class.
I joined Barre3 Bedford 6 years ago and it’s been the foundation of my fitness and wellbeing routine ever since. Natasha the owner is amazing- she is warm, welcoming and has created a wonderful community. Her classes are fantastic! All of the instructors are excellent- encouraging, skilled and knowledgeable.
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
