I can’t say enough good things about YogaPilatesBarre studio. I found it during a time in my life when I was really struggling. Mentally, emotionally, and physically. I was looking for a safe space where I could move my body and begin to heal, and this studio became exactly that and more.
I went with the intention of only attending yoga classes but quickly fell in love with the abundance of classes offered. The instructors are all phenomenal. Grace is a genuinely all around caring person who is invested in each and every members goals. The studio is very clean and has a serene atmosphere.
Your first barre class at Yoga Pilates Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
