“This is my happy place and I always leave smiling (even when the workout is really hard).”
From the reviews
Absolutely gorgeous space and fantastic instructor. I really enjoyed the class and can't wait to try another class. They provide mats and students should bring their own socks. This studio is on the second floor above the dentist and requires a staircase to enter.
I absolutely love coming here. I originally started coming just for ballet, but Rachel and Miriam are so awesome that I like to come for the English method and myofascial release classes too! This is my happy place and I always leave smiling (even when the workout is really hard).
Rachel is a fantastic barre instructor and leads a great workout! The space is also super cool and intimate - like working out with your friends in one of their highly stylish living rooms. Can’t recommend enough!
Rachel is incredible! She takes the time to truly understand you and your body to help you get the most out of her class and the workout. This is unlike any other barre class I’ve taken. It’s her own style and I love it. She will give you the smallest move and somehow make you sweat.
Your first barre class at Raising Your Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
