“I take both the Barre and Yoga classes, and the instructors all vary in style, which is so great because they aren't formulaic like the big chain studios.”

I truly don’t have a single negative thing to say about Tuck. Callie and her team have built the most amazing community of kind people who have each other’s backs and want to see everyone thrive. The studios are bright and clean and filled with gorgeous plants - the best vibes!
This little yoga studio feels like home. Callie the owner says things during my yoga practice that I take with me all week that help me tremendously. Amy’s flow class is my absolute favorite on Saturday’s and Monday evening and Jordan’s Thursday class is not to be missed I love that they have barre and yoga, my…
This studio is such a special place. First and most important, every single instructor is so talented, upbeat and creative. I go almost every day and I don’t think they’ve repeated a move/series. The classes are challenging and I leave feeling so strong but not beat up. Second, the schedule is perfect.
Tuck is my favorite fitness studio in Philly! I love that they offer both yoga and barre classes on the same membership with a great variety of class times and levels of intensity. I’ve taken classes with almost every instructor and have found them all to be incredibly motivating and attentive to all students.
Your first barre class at Tuck Barre & Yoga Washington Square West
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
