From the reviews
WOW! One of the most motivating spin classes I've taken. Barbie was the instructor and she brought her "A" game!! Great instructions to work your entire body. Music kept you going throughout the class along with Barbie's constant motivation.
The most amazing classes, teachers, and community. As a former D1 athlete I was burnt out and nervous joining a gym. The teachers are immediately welcoming and have awesome energy that make classes and working out fun again.
I have been going to the sweat lab for the past school year and I can without a doubt say it is the best fitness studio I have ever been to. The spin choreo was challenging at first but after two classes I was able to pick it up very quickly. I also love the variety of classes they offer.
The Sweat Lab is my favorite place in all of Durham! The rhythm-based cycling classes are addictive; I love that it’s a challenging (but rewarding) workout no matter what level of experience you show up with. Same goes for sculpt/barre/yoga, too. And the best part is that it’s all actually fun!
Your first barre class at The Sweat Lab
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
