From the reviews
Parents seeking a dance studio for their young dancer should consider The Dance Barre. We have a 5 year old girl who enjoys jazz, ballet and ballroom. She loves dancing in a group and does competitive ballroom. While the studio is brand new, we have done a week of intensive dance.
We love the Dance Barre. My daughter started dancing at 4 years old at another studio. She never loved going and was still really shy. Fast forward to this past June, she took one of the Dance Barre summer camps and she was hooked. We signed up for classes in the fall and we feel like it helped transform her.
The Dance Barre has the best staff and most beautiful space. They also offer the space for private events. We hosted our daughter's 6th Birthday Party and the kids loved it. It is huge and had plenty of space for running around in addition to the planned party activities.
The Dance Barre has the most amazing teachers. They are extremely dedicated to teaching good technique and for their dancers to have a solid foundation. They are so good with children and always maintain a fun, positive, and healthy atmosphere.
Your first barre class at The Dance Barre HTX
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
