I love Define! The Bounce class is fun, but Body is my favorite. It’s always challenging, and fatigues your muscles with the smallest movements. Great, low-impact workout. I feel great when I leave. I’ve tried other barre classes but nothing compares to Define!
Define Body is absolutely fantastic! Everything from customer service to the quality of their classes are great! All the members are very friendly and the staff is super welcoming. They always respond quickly to email requests and are very flexible and put the customer first.
I love the instructors at Motiv! Jane McCullough and Ada Bishop always have a smile when you enter! You can feel their enthusiasm! They make you feel super welcome and push everyone at their level of challenge, you end up sweating so much. It’s great
Obsessed with the bounce class at Define Tanglewood! Such great music and high energy -- it's an enjoyable workout and goes by so quickly. Instructors have been terrific and mindful to newcomers so they'll help you if you're just starting out!
Your first barre class at Mōtiv Fitness
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
