From the reviews
Beautiful studio, friendly and helpful instructors, and the fellow members represent the Long Beach community I know and love. I was more of a yoga/mat Pilates gal, but barre is quickly growing on me. It’s a great mix of low impact high value.
I took my first MAT Pilates class at The Barre with Amanda today and it was great! It was the perfect combo of ab and glute work and it really allowed me to challenge myself. I look forward to joining again! 💚
This is the love child of a former Barre studio here in Long Beach & having waited for the opening, it did not disappoint. I'm now going 3/4 times a week at 6 & 8am to different classes (Classic Barre, Buff Barre & Mat Pilates) & love that every inch of my body can feel it.
Beyond excited to have a barre & Pilates studio in Long Beach!! I love the welcoming vibe and the workouts are exactly what I’ve been looking for in a local studio - lengthening, toning & strengthening! I went opening day and the owner, Amanda & manager, Courtney made everyone feel like they were already a regular!
Your first barre class at The Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
