From the reviews
I started coming to the Barre Effect in the fall of 2019 to the mom and baby classes and I loved this experience. It was the perfect workout postpartum and helped me get back into shape.
This studio is amazing! I’ve been to many Pilate, yoga and barre studios over the past 20 years. This one is small yet intimate and run so well by its instructors. I love Katie’s class. She’s great with instructions and corrections that feel so warm and friendly.
The Barre Effect offers a wide variety of classes, a motivating environment, and innovative instructors that motivate you to push yourself to the best of your ability. I haven't been able to find another studio that comes close to what they offer!
I've been loving taking classes at The Barre Effect during the last month - Juliana is wonderful and the classes are fantastic! I had very little barre experience but felt welcome from the beginning.
Your first barre class at The Barre Effect
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
