From the reviews
SWEAT had a new client special and after several years of slacking on working out, I decided to give it a try. I honestly can't recommend the studio enough. Every person I have encountered, from the front desk staff to the instructors to the other members, have been kind, welcoming, and reassuring.
Sweat is the best gym around! I have tried other studios over the years and there is truly just nothing else like it! Where else can you cycle, yoga, barre, dance, and do heavy weight power classes all within one monthly membership!
Favorite place to work out ever! SWEAT and its instructors are the best! They’re all so motivating and fun. The studio is clean and well run. I’ll never work out anywhere else as long as SWEAT is around!!!
I joined Sweat PGH South Hills in January and it has been one of the best decisions I've made for my health. Since joining, I've gotten noticeably stronger and I genuinely look forward to every class. The instructors here are what make this studio truly special.
Your first barre class at SWEAT PGH
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel — there are showers on site if you need one after. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
