From the reviews
I love the hot barre classes! The instructors at the studio are authentic, genuine, and engaged. You want a workout that kicks your a$$?? This is the spot.
At the end of last year I decided to get the unlimited membership for Spirit Barre. I live locally in PB, and being able to go to any class throughout the month has been a game changer for me, especially as someone who works from home!
Love this studio. The instructors are all energetic, motivating, fun and such pros. They make each class their own unique style, from the playlists, to the warmup, to the order of muscle groups- each class is different. No matter who is teaching the class, you will get a great full body workout.
I’ve been doing barre since around 2013, and I’ve had memberships at 3 different studios. Spirit Barre is my favorite for several reasons. They offer a variety of classes and instructors are able to be creative. You don’t see this much with chain studios who have to follow specific exercises and routines.
Your first barre class at Spirit Barre Studios
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
