I had such an amazing time working out at Salt Fitness during my 2-week intro offer! The classes are fun, challenging, and so well-balanced that you’ll never get bored. Their programs are so diverse that you’ll never get bored. For example: - Barre Sweat is a fantastic workout for body control and cardio.
SALT is the best gym!!. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming! I never feel embarrassed or intimidated if something is difficult for me and the instructors always offer modifications, without being asked. The workout space is very clean and bright and the locker facilities have multiple showers that are always clean.
Started going to SALT with ClassPass and quickly realized that I didn’t want to go to any other gym! I deleted my ClassPass and joined as a member. The atmosphere and community are so welcoming. There are so many classes and times, making it easy to find the right class for me.
Our instructor, Mel was motivating and made sure we were set up correctly on bikes. And her music mix was great! Also provided shoes and facility is great. And I like that the bikes show you the RPMs so you know if you are in range of your goal.
Your first barre class at SALT Fitness Chicago
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel — there are showers on site if you need one after. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
