From the reviews
I love Pure Barre San Rafael! All the Instructors are skilled, personable, patient and super friendly! They learn your name on your first class, and they also will give each member of the class personalized guidance when needed - They will show you how to master each position during class!
Love PureBarre! The teachers are wonderful & the environment is so inviting. The classes are great for toning, burning and strengthening. Increasing the strength of my abs and back muscles has helped tremendously with the back pain I experienced before joining. If you’ve been thinking about joining, give it a try!
I started taking classes through ClassPass and quickly got hooked! So much so that I upgraded to an unlimited membership. The workouts are consistently challenging, and just when I feel like I can't go any further, the movement changes.
Pure Barre is my favorite workout! I love that I always feel challenged in a new way with each class because the instructor varies the moves to work a different little hidden muscle that I didn’t even know I had.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
