From the reviews
I joined pure barre Rockville a little more than a year ago as part of my recovery after 2 years of high doses of steroids due to my autoimmune disease that made my body bloated, stiff and never ending cramps. I started with once a week Align class as my body adjusted to the exercise and get stronger.
I have been going to Pure Barre Rockville now for almost 1250 classes. The instructors really pay attention to you and assist you. With the newest class format Pure Barre Define, I can definitely see a difference in my strength and definition of my entire body.

I’ve been coming to Pure Barre for nearly two years now, and I’m so glad I joined the PB community. There are lots of different class formats, and the instructors change things up frequently. My favorite classes are the weight lifting version (Define) and the cardio version (Empower).
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
