From the reviews
My mom discovered this place when she was visiting me during my internship at Mayo Clinic. I am not one to take group fitness classes so I was hesitant to join my mom but I instantly fell in love!
Just finished the free week at Pure Barre Rochester. Went four days! It was tough and fun. The instructors are helpful and inviting. On my first day the instructor loaned me a pair of sticky socks and i liked the class so much i purchased a pair after class. I like that it is easy on the joints and isometric.
After taking my first class at the Rochester location, I was instantly hooked on Pure Barre. The instructors are all so kind and motivate me to try my hardest. The overall atmosphere is extremely welcoming, and I look forward to going to class every time! I would highly recommend taking Pure Barre classes in Rochester!
Pure Barre Rochester is an amazing workout studio! I have joined for the last two + years and I have been obsessed. It’s a low impact workout and it has different classes with varying workout styles so it’s been great to get to choose what class I feel like each day.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
