From the reviews

Best fitness studio that I’ve ever been to! I’ve been taking classes at Pure Barre south waterfront for more than a half year-a variety of classes are offered for all fitness levels. I suffered from a really bad knee injury from running and now it’s completely healed.

Always a great workout, love barre! And this place has the best instructors that keep you motivated, answer questions, and help with form. It’s also a wonderful community, I look forward to coming in and seeing all the familiar faces. An amazing workout while having lots of fun! Love it here!

10s 10s 10s across the board. This Pure Barre studio is amazing! All of the instructors are delightful, encouraging, and offer just the right amount of positive feedback. Linda, the owner, is a caffeinated bubble of sunshine! The classes are challenging in a way that makes you want to come back.

Fun and hard workout go hand and hand here. All the team members are so fun and energetic, such a great vibe! They do a lot of events too, so being a member is worth it. I joined because I was in a rut and being lazy, and NEVER going to the gym.

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
