Pure Barre has been one of the best things to happen to me, plain and simple. Prior to starting Pure Barre in July 2021, I hadn’t exercised regularly in probably 10 years. I had all but given up on taking care of myself, until my best friend recommended I try it out.
Pure Barre New Albany is an amazing place! Finding the barre was one of the best things that happened to me in 2015 and I am excited to start off 2016 with my 100th class this week! I absolutely love this studio, the instructors and the workout itself!
Pure Barre is my fav workout! It’s a full body workout with small movements pushing your muscles to fatigue and CHANGE. It’s never the same class twice - always evolving and challenging!
Great customer service and fabulous instructors. They are very personable and always use your name. The instructors are very attentive to make sure you’re in proper alignment so you won’t hurt yourself. I’m a senior and my balance and core strength have improved immeasurably! I couldn’t be happier.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
