Edit May 2024: I'm thrilled that Pure Barre Mill Creek has reopened under new ownership after the previous sudden closure! So glad to be back taking classes again.
I treated myself to a Pure Barre membership on January 14th. All I can say is how much I love these classes and the women who teach them! Nicole's Align classes are amazing, she kicks my ass on the regular.
Been going to Pure Barre for a few months now and boy its a great workout but tough. The variety of classes available are great for switching things up and being able to give your body a break while still getting a workout in.
Pure Barre is a great workout. The classes aren’t easy but you never feel like you can’t finish - the right mix. Instructors are great, giving clear instruction on how to get into each of the exercises. They will monitor and give tips to make sure your form doesn’t slip.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
