From the reviews
So, I am 30+ workouts in and feel confident in reviewing Laura and the Barre-istas who help you lift, tone and burn at PBL. A few weeks ago I was getting out a car and my best friend from growing up said "your legs look great!
It's crazy that a workout can be equal parts humbling and empowering, but pure barre nails it every time. I always leave with a smile on my face, feeling both accomplished and uplifted.
Fell IN LOVE. Every class is a challenge no matter how many times you go! The instructors are friendly and relatable. Laura (the owner) is encouraging and invested in your development. Had no yoga or ballet background and it was easy to pick up the lingo and movements. It's truly 50mins of you time.
I have done many barre classes back in my hometown. I was in town and decided to visit the Lancaster studio, and I am so happy I did! Mackenzie did such a great job leading the class and making it easy for myself and others to follow along! Thank you, I hope to come back again!
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
