From the reviews
I came in early for my free Foundations class, and was immediately welcomed by the instructor and other staff members. They limit classes to about 15 people to give more personal instruction, and have three different types of classes. I really appreciated how friendly and knowledgeable Betsy and Lindsey were!
Started going here earlier this year. I loved the staff and everyone who went. They're very supportive in learning and show alternate moves if you can't do the original move. The owner and all the instructors are fun and easy to get along with. I don't feel singled out or embarrassed.
I really enjoy Pure Barre. The classes are a lot more challenging than I originally thought. I’m used to high cardio and moderate to heavy weightlifting so I didn’t think I would get much out of the Pure Barre classes- but boy, was I wrong!
What a welcoming place! I belong to a purebarre studio in Atlanta and only got to try one class at this Studio while visiting relatives in Jacksonville. It definitely won't be my last visit; everyone there was so kind and welcoming; you wouldn't know that i wasn't a member there.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
