From the reviews

Katie Moscovitch and her team have created a welcoming community. The classes, instructors and members are all great! I am new to PB and Cornelius. Everyone has been incredibly helpful as I learn the practice and acclimate to the area. PB is helping me to build muscle, strength and balance.

One of my New Years resolutions for 2025 was to find a fitness community that kept me motivated, encouraged, and inspired. I’ve found all of this at Pure Barre Lake Norman! I hadn’t known much about barre until I heard about it on a podcast. Remembering my resolution, I thought I’d give it a try.

I love PBLKN!!! From the moment I stepped into the studio almost two years ago, I could feel the sense of community. The workouts are changed up every quarter which helps to keep me motivated and wanting to come back. The staff makes an effort to learn every persons name.

Dec 2025 Update: Pure Barre is still the best! I’ve improved not only my muscle definition, but also my balance and strength. I am coming up on my one year anniversary. Based on the results I’ve seen so far, I can’t wait to see what’s next! Orig Review: Absolutely LOVE Pure Barre. This location is amazing.

Your first barre class at Pure Barre

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
