From the reviews
I’ve been going to Pure Barre for over a year now and still absolutely love it. You can say I’m obsessed. The class structure is perfect for someone like me who hates going to traditional gyms and doing traditional workouts. There’s many different class types offered so you’re always doing something different.
I’ve been coming to Pure Barre Geneva for 2.5 years now, and cannot express how lucky I feel to have been recommended to it! As someone who hated exercise of any sort, I was nervous to give it a try, but everyone - from the instructors to fellow classmates - is so welcoming.
I was a client of Pure Barre Geneva many years ago and have rejoined recently. I'm writing a review to share with others all of the changes and evolutions of the studio. There are so many classes to choose from, making your workout consistently different (if you so choose).
I have been going to Pure Barre Geneva for 18 months and it is a great workout but an even better place! The teachers and staff are so kind and encouraging. They have great products and have some good sales at various times through the year. They are always having fun events and challenges.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
