From the reviews
I’ve been taking classes here for a few years and I’d like to share why I love it and why I keep coming back! I enjoy having different formats and styles outside of the classic barre style class. Even within the classic style, every class is different and the variety is wonderful.
Amazing and friendly instructors. The workouts are tough but they let you do it on your own pace. There is a Pure Barre Foundations class where they teach you the barre lingo which helps you become more familiar with the different movements.
Of the Houston area Pure Barre studios I've visited, Cypress is my favorite. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable and appeals to a variety of clientele. I've been a fitness junky for years, but I find that Pure Barre tones my arms and strengthens my core better than many other workouts I have tried.
Best workout I’ve ever done. It's both high intensity and low impact – physically and mentally challenging. It’s great for quickly improving strength, flexibility and balance, and with time, can reshape your body. Encouraging instructors offer continual, gentle correction to help maximize results.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
