Pure Barre is a challenging, low/no impact, full body workout that I highly recommend to everyone. The instructors at this location are phenomenal- they explain each move specifically to help you achieve better form, they're encouraging and motivate you to work your hardest.
Pure Barre Chicago River North is an amazing fitness community with fantastic teachers! The workout is incredibly challenging and there are three different class types, all of which strengthen your body in different ways. I have become immeasurably stronger since I joined this studio over four years ago.
I love the new River North Pure Barre location! I recently started going with my girlfriend (who is a pure barre fanatic) and I thoroughly enjoy the workouts. They are an excellent compliment to my regular strength training.
I've been a regular at PBRN for a few years and even until this day the classes are challenging every time I go! You'll never get bored from the workouts. Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
