From the reviews
Elizabeth is both a gentle and enthusiastic instructor. She calmly guides her classes through challenging sequences offering students the opportunity to challenge themselves while equally recognizing the need for one to listen to their body and offering modifications for those that need them.
Zahra is an amazing instructor! Her gentle and professional corrections to my dorm were greatly appreciated. The class was challenging at times, but she adjusted it so beginners like me could still participate. Everyone at the studio was friendly and I felt very welcomed.
First time trying a Barre class and it was lots of fun! Zahra was amazing and it was a great workout. I’ll definitely be back!
I've been a member of Pure Barre Roland Park for a while now, and it has truly become one of my favorite parts of the week as I recently completed my 250th class and still going. The instructors are encouraging, knowledgeable, and create a welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of fitness level.
Your first barre class at Pure Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
