Stef and all the instructors are PowHer are amazing! Highly recommend the classes.
I just joined Town Barre in July and I have never felt better! As somebody that loathes going to the gym and avoided it for 4 years, I finally decided I needed to do something for me! The classes really challenge me to do better each week and I now find myself going 4x a week when I can!
PowHER is hands down the best workout I’ve ever done. The classes are challenging in the best way and leave me feeling strong, energized, and accomplished every single time. The atmosphere of the studio is absolutely perfect, welcoming, motivating, and empowering from the moment you walk in.
I went to the mommy and me Wednesday barre class today and had a great experience. The instructor was fantastic, the studio is beautiful and uses innovative and chic equipment. Registering was so easy.
Your first barre class at PowHer by Stef
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
