From the reviews
Decided to use my summer break trying out some new fitness classes, and Pilax was the first one I attended in late June. Actually, it’s the only studio I attended this summer because once I took the first class, I knew I was hooked & wouldn’t be going anywhere else.
Pilax has changed my life for the better. I was nervous and didn't know what to expect. Walking in they instantly make you feel welcomed and super comfortable. So encouraging and uplifting. I love the community there and all the instructors are amazing. They will push you in a good way and always help you improve.
Had the pleasure of filming a workout video for Pilax Pilates during one of their park sessions, and I was genuinely impressed! The energy from the instructors was electric — motivating, upbeat, and incredibly engaging. You can tell they really care about creating a positive and empowering experience.
I have been a part of Pilax Pilates for over a year now and I am so thankful to have found a place that offers a great (and challenging) workout, a place to take time for meditation (and to set your intentions) and a place that has supported me mentally and physically.
Your first barre class at Pilax Pilates
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
