From the reviews
I started with Pilates By Design over 10 years ago after multiple running injuries and low back pain that had me in tears after standing at work all day. I had a lot of fear in movement and the instructors helped me feel safe and strong in my body!
I've been attending classes at Pilates By Design since 2017 and was hooked after the first session. Jeni and her staff are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and fun! I've learned so much and feel so much better than before. The studio is well equipped, clean and welcoming.
I've been coming to PbD every Tuesday and Thursday night for the past two years. I started with Staci, but since she left (I hope you are well, Staci!), Teresa and Anna have been my regular instructors. At first, I wasn't sure about continuing without Staci, but I am impressed with the workouts.
I have been going here for many years. Jeni, the owner is amazing and very knowledgable about back injuries as well as other injuries and helps you make adjustments. Super Friendly and welcoming staff! Other instructors are just as great! Super clean and affordable too!
Your first barre class at Pilates by Design
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
