From the reviews
I have been to classes taught by Heather in the studio and with Zoom. I have enjoyed each and every class. She is focused and well prepared for her classes. I have enjoyed Pilates sessions and more recently her QiGong classes. She is extremely qualified and continues to learn and share her knowledge with her students.
Heather is an accomplished, professional, dedicated, and talented Pilates instructor. She’s passionate and imaginative in her teaching style, making it fun. I’ve been attending her barre, mat, and reformer classes consistently for more four years.
Heather is the greatest. She tailors each class to fit the students who are present, provides healthy challenges and lovely encouragement. I am a very timid exerciser but I always feel welcomed, empowered, and re-energized by what I've accomplished.
Heather has practiced and taught in this studio space for 17 years, and whether it's Mat, Barre, Apparatus, Jump-Board, Swing-a-Lates or Aerial-Pilates, you have not experienced anything like Perennial Pilates. Heather is a PRO!
Your first barre class at Perennial Pilates
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
