Overall good workout and super cheery instructor! Took the 5:15 on a Tuesday. The mats the studio provides are visibly worn, and in need of replacement soon so bring your own but the rest of the equipment is in great shape!
Absolutely love this place. I’ve always been a gym girly, but these classes kick my butt in a way I’ve never experienced before! I feel so good every time I leave, and feel stronger after every class. I really appreciate how small the studio is, and how friendly everyone is - instructors and other class members!
This place is so welcoming and is just what I needed as someone who has never been a consistent gym-goer. The instructors are great, the classes are adaptable to wherever you’re at (but are definitely a good workout), and I love that they have strength and HIIT class options too.
So happy there’s finally a studio in the city of Buffalo! The variety of class styles is great for beginners and veteran barre goers. The owners welcome you into their community the moment you walk through the door. I highly recommend giving them and barre a try!
Your first barre class at Neighborhood Barre Buffalo
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
