Method Barre has such a special place in my heart!! I started attended there this past summer while home from college. I have tried numerous studios before but none of them compare to Method Barre.
This is a wonderful place to work out. I decided to try a fitness studio when I retired, and signed up at Method Barre. I have never regretted my decision. All the instructors are wonderful. They offer a variety of classes which are very challenging. The instructors are very welcoming and helpful.
I never thought I'd say this, but I genuinely love working out now! Before joining this gym, exercise was something I dreaded, but this place has completely transformed my perspective on fitness. The class offerings are exceptional, and the instructors make all the difference.
I tried Method Barre back in July 2017 and since then, I've been a member of this local spot. It's a combination of Pilates, yoga and ballet, Dance and works all muscle groups, allowing your body to strengthen and lengthen. I found my posture improving and it enabled me to stretch further as well.
Your first barre class at Method Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
