From the reviews
I just moved back to the area and was worried about finding a new studio since the one I used to go to closed. No shade against the chain barre studios, they just aren't my vibe. I am THRILLED to have found Hum.
Such a beautiful and peaceful space! I've started to plan my week around attending class, which hasn't been a part of my life for a few years...I've been searching for a community and this is it! The Barre classes are great too. Emma and KJ have so much experience and their kindness is unmatched. Highly recommend 💖
I can't say enough good things about my experience at HUM! From the moment I walk in, I am greeted with warmth and positivity. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, with a peaceful ambiance that immediately puts you at ease. The instructor owners KJ and Emma are top-notch.
Started my yoga journey back in 2015 and bounced around studios for the last several years. I left a studio in Uptown I belonged to for 3 years after moving to NE. After covid hit I never resumed my practice. HUM has invigorated my love for yoga all over again.
Your first barre class at HUM Yoga + Barre
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
