I tried 11 different gyms after moving from Greensboro and none felt right or providing challenging enough classes until I found Hive Fitness! I am now here consistently 6 (sometime 4) days a week for group classes, 2 days a week for 1-on-1 personal sessions and to top it off the staff is just great.
Had the pleasure of visiting this fitness center for an event. Hive Fitness is a great workout gym! They cater to anyone who just wants to walk in and use the equipment and do their own thing to those who would like to take a class and do a full body workout. They also offer barre and yoga classes as well.
Amazing gym with an amazing staff!! Bryson, Jake, Erin, Nathan Sara, Michaela, Jess and all of the staff are always very kind, helpful! They always make me feel so welcome at the gym every day I went. The gym is always very clean, the equipment is great and I never too packed!
I have been a member of Hive Fitness for 3 years and it is truly the best gym in the city! Always clean, never too busy, and every piece of equipment you could hop for! The classes are high energy and the instructors make working out fun! The people at Hive are really what stands out the most to me.
Your first barre class at Hive Fitness
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
