From the reviews
I absolutely love this Yoga studio. I am so glad I had the pleasure of experiencing Downtown Yoga Studio before any others because I am now spoiled. Ginny Restorative class on Sunday evenings is amazing. I also have taken Hot Yoga with Marie and that was amazing.
By far the best studio in Westminster, I wouldn't go anywhere else! The quality is great for the price of the classes. The studio is clean and bright, the location is super convenient, and the teachers are exceptional. The hot yoga seems to be the perfect temperature and the difficulty of classes is approachable.
Amazing studio. They understand both the mind and the body as few other places do. This studio helped me get through the death of my wife. I have nothing to say but the instructors are fantastic.
Visiting MD for the week and found Downtown Yoga! Super nice people, great classes, fabulous teaching! Thanks for your hospitality!
Your first barre class at Downtown Yoga, Barre & Cycle
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
