I began Define back in 2012 I believe & got into the best shape of my life before my wedding. Then life happened and fitness went to the back burner for a number of years. In the midst of quarantine and COVID, when things began to re-open, I gave Define another try.
A friend invited me to take a class with her and I’ve been going ever since. It is truly the best thing that has happened to me since moving back to Houston. The entire staff is so friendly and they all know you by name. It has a more personal and intimate feeling than your big gyms and chain establishments.
I LOVE Define Body and Mind! They are the only studio I've ever been to that are indeed All Inclusive. The staff, instructors other clients as well as the Founder of DEFINE are so encouraging, very knowledgeable, sweet and just have the kind of energy that makes you feel happy to belong.
I really have loved all the classes I have tried at the studio! They are always changing and I feel like that makes me really enjoy coming in to see what’s next. I especially like the beat class as it combines pylometric moves with fun cardio dance sections.

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
