Body Shop Yoga, Barre and Pilates is such a great addition to our community! Rebecca has done an amazing job! I’m LOVING all of the classes, especially the Barre, and yoga. There is a great selection of all classes throughout the week . All the instructors are wonderful.
This was my first Barre class. Amanda explained what to expect before the class started, and during the class was attentive to students at different levels offering modifications. It was a great workout with good music, and I surely will be back!!
Your first barre class at Body Shop Yoga, Barre and Pilates
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
