From the reviews

First time trying pilates and honestly this is the best gift and investment I have done for myself. I was nervous and intimidated at first with the equipment but the instructors are attentive to your needs and diversify each class with new moves.

As a complete beginner to Pilates, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this class exceeded all my expectations. Valerie, the instructor, was absolutely fantastic. She explained each movement clearly and thoroughly, which made it easy to follow along—even for someone brand new like me.

I haven’t worked out in years because I haven’t found something I love to do after injuring my back. I go multiple times a week and enjoy it so much! This was my first time doing Pilates and Amber introduced new moves to me slowly and when she and I felt I was ready and now I feel so much more confident in class and I…

I started my Pilates journey at Bliss in September! I was nervous being a first timer, but the instructors at Bliss always made me feel welcomed and did a great job guiding me through each class! I’ve taken classes with most of the instructors now, and all of them are great and have their own style!

Your first barre class at Bliss Balance Pilates Studio

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: required here, and sold on-site if you don’t have a pair; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
