From the reviews

I have been going to Barre 3 Raleigh for nine years and have completed close to 2,000 classes. Since I retired 1 1/2 years ago, I have been attending Barre 3 for a 60 minute class, 7 days a week. The facility is clean, bright, appealing, and uplifting. The staff members are super courteous, inviting, and helpful.

I recommend Barre3 to everyone I know! I've never been consistent with working out, but Barre3 has been a completely different story. I actually look forward to going. The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging, and friendly. The workouts are fun, empowering, and vary from class to class so it never gets boring.

Barre3 is the best workout in town! I love that it truly meets you where you are. I’ve been taking classes for several years now, and one of the things I appreciate most is how I was able to continue through all my pregnancies.

I have been a member at Barre3 for over 5 years, and can’t express how much I love it. The team there has been so supportive of me personally. I love the movement. The classes leave you feeling strong, breathless and confident. All of the instructors bring great energy and even better playlists. 💕

Your first barre class at barre3

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.

Barre is low-impact, so it suits most bodies and fitness levels — but if you're pregnant or working around an injury, check with a doctor and let your instructor know so they can offer modifications.
