I cannot recommend Barre3 highly enough. The instructors are phenomenal, so welcoming and genuinely knowledgeable about fitness. They pay attention to everyone and make sure you get the most out of class.
I’ve been part of this community for over 5 years, and I even kept my membership going during the 3 years I lived away so I could join on Zoom and take classes whenever I came home — a true testament to the amazing people and instructors here. I could not love a group of women and teachers more.
Loved Barre 3 in Newport! Probably the most welcoming atmosphere I’ve ever experienced at a workout studio. I’m a travel healthcare worker & joined the unlimited membership for ~3months. It was my first time trying barre but didn’t feel intimidating at all.

New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
