From the reviews
I joined Barre3 Los Altos in October 2016 and my life was forever changed! This studio has been my community, my place of peace and my inspiration for the last few years. Everyone is so friendly, the instructors are motivational and encouraging, and the workouts are for everyone.
One day over seven years ago, I walked into barre3 Los Altos looking for a new exercise experience. I found more than an exercise studio; I found a new exercise home. That was 1850 classes ago, and I could not be more satisfied.
Being a part of barre3 Los Altos has only made life better! I'm physically stronger, I have better balance and core strength, and I have the support of all of the wonderful people in the studio to help me break through plateaus and get through the hard moments (in and out of the studio). I can't recommend it enough!
I haven't worked out my body this well in years! Loved my first free class so much, I signed up for a membership. I come pretty often, because of how fun and fulfilling the classes are. The instructors are so kind as well. My favorite is the strength class! Be prepared to be sore after your first class.
Your first barre class at barre3 Los Altos
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
