From the reviews
Coming to update my review because the format and name have changed to Barre3. If it’s possible, it’s even better than before working out here! The new classes are so functional and doable. If I’m being honest, I hated the Barre workouts because they were tedious. Barre3 is never an issue.
The Barre Code is such an amazing place. Every person is so friendly and supportive. From the moment you walk in the door, you can just feel the positive energy. The instructors are knowledgeable and help you to have the best time you can have while offering options for all fitness levels.
After years of at-home workouts, I was hesitant and intimidated to join a studio. But Barre3 has the perfect approach to women’s health, fitness and community. From Michelle down to all the instructors, to the women who show up every day and support each other, I’m so impressed this place exists!
I’ve been coming to the Barre Code EL since I moved to the area shortly after the studio opened, and there’s no place like it! The classes are amazing, with different formats so you can get a great workout no matter what you’re looking for (cardio, functional strength, classic barre), and the community is super…
Your first barre class at barre3
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
