From the reviews
Barre South is my favorite workout studio! The instructors are incredibly motivating, energetic, and fun, and they create such a welcoming environment for everyone in class. I also love the music playlists they make the workouts fly by and keep the energy high the entire time.
I've recently started attending Barre South and can say it's great! It was easy to jump into their workouts in their clean, super cute studio. The instructors are so personal and make it a point to get to know their clients. Remembering names is huge for their clients and I'm not quite sure how they do it!
This little barre studio is AWESOME! I love that it's all locally owned and operated - all of the instructors are so friendly and sweet, and seriously make an effort to get to know their clients on a first-name basis. They will kick your butt in class, though!
5 stars for sure. I had been to a couple Barre classes elsewhere previously and was pretty turned off - it seemed overly pretentious, a little to cliquey, and competitive. Barre South has completely changed my mind and I LOVE this place and this workout.
Your first barre class at Barre South Coleman Blvd
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
