From the reviews
Brett is awesome, and this barre class is often times the best part of my day. It's a combo of a really good body workout (pilates meets yoga meets ballet) that makes you feel strong (even if you struggle with some of the moves like I do :) ), and an hour of mind cleansing with no phone, no outside distractions or…
If you were to peek into a Barre South class, you’d see a bunch of women with 2 pound weights doing movements that you can barely see…occasionally shaking out their arms or dropping their weights and you would think “that’s so easy”. WRONG. This workout is sneaky hard. The burn. The shake.
Barre South is hands down the best barre workout in the area! ( I’ve tried a few.) I love getting to workout in such a beautiful space instead of a closed room. It truly is a beautiful space, wide and open, bright light, beautifuly decorated! 🩵 The instructors are so welcoming!
I started taking barre at Barre South back in November 2020! I absolutely love this community, the difficulty of classes (6 years later it's still killer), the instructors, and the culture of the studio. Admittedly, I loved it so much I became an instructor!
Your first barre class at Barre South Carolina Park
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
