The classes they teach
“I avoid cardio usually, the bounce and barre, and bounce and bands classes really help me get my heart pumping and tone up.”
“I started with 2 Bounce & Barre classes as well as a Dance & Define - I didn't see too much difference and think both are beginner friendly.”
What's on offer
“Worth noting, apparently this is the only Barre Groove location with showers.”
“This locker room has been nicer than any chain studio in Boston and is kept very clean.”
“The staff is so welcoming and thoughtful, they take care to celebrate milestones with you, and they make EVERY class fun with new moves, playlists, and challenges.”

“Since it’s low impact, I can still get a great workout without it interfering with everything else I need to do in a day—it really does the job of exercising and training.”

From the reviews
How have I not reviewed Barre Groove yet, it's one of my favorite places in the city and the most fun/supportive/amazing community around! I've been going to barre groove since 2019 and STILL love the workouts, the instructors, and the energy brought to each class.
Barre Groove has been the only type of exercise that has helped me become more consistent. It is the perfect balance of fun while also feeling challenging. I always feel refreshed after a class, and the Newbury Street location is my favorite because of how much there is to do in the area plus they have lovely showers…
Such a fun way to get some cardio in! I'm really not a cardio person at all but all of the instructors here are great and it feels more like dancing than a workout.
Barre Groove’s classes are a highlight of my week! They’re always so much fun and a great workout. I love that each instructor is different, the classes always change things up and I always come out feeling strong (and that I’m getting stronger!). I love barre workouts but the trampoline addition is really awesome.
Your first barre class at Barre Groove
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel — there are showers on site if you need one after. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
