From the reviews
One class is all it took for me to fall in love with barre groove! For so long I have DREADED anytime I needed to do cardio…now there are some days I truly can’t get enough of it! Each instructor gives such different energy that pumps you up!
I've been attending Barre Groove classes for almost 5 months now, and I really love it! As someone who loves dancing, Pilates and running, I'd say this workout has been an amazing supplement to my other training, especially for those cold winter months, and I noticed muscle toning.
Super good workout tucked away in a corner of the Boston city — this was only my second time doing barre but I really enjoyed the experience and really liked being able to use the trampolines in Barre Groove.
Barre Groove has become a true second home for me. I leave every class feeling sassier, sexier, and stronger, and I cannot stop smiling in every class. Alanna’s instructors, herself included, are truly special. They lift each other up, exude joy, and foster a welcoming community for ALL.
Your first barre class at Barre Groove
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
