Highly recommended!!! A few days ago I had the pleasure of attending the “Piyo” class taught by Carolyn and this was amazing!!! I walked in with a aches/pain on my right upper thigh due to a previous injuries a few years ago that suddenly decided to recently surface.
Jess was helpful and informative in signing me up as a first-timer. Tony talked to me about his class and asked questions about my experience. They both made me feel welcome. My first class was Tony's After burn which I thoroughly enjoyed and can feel the results today :-) looking forward to my next class!
I absolutely love this place. I never in a million years thought i would enjoy yoga, much less HOT yoga. However it is now something i look forward to doing every week. I can't wait for my next class. The hardest thing for me is to figure out how many classes to purchase for the month.
I have only been going for two days - they are closed for the 4th - but I am trying the 30 for $30 and will hopefully go every day. Rosemary is a very good teacher and doesn't try and force you to do anything you honestly cannot.
Your first barre class at Afterglow Hot Yoga
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
