From the reviews
Very well organized and ran. Located in what was once a church, the old stone structure is beautiful in its appearance and rather large. The Staff was quite friendly and helpful. We were there for a swimming session with our Scout Troop. The pool was clean and well organized.
Shoutout to the customer rep who signed me up on a membership and made me feel comfortable! I signed up mainly for the gym and it has all the stuff I need. The only thing is since construction is going on everywhere, it was a little difficult to navigate where to go my first time, but other than that, a great location.
I just want to ask if you have table tennis / pingpong at your facility. Because its good benefits for whole physical for our body and mind.
Very polite staff doesn't have standard parking need to pay lot fee. Very clean facility
Your first barre class at Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
