From the reviews
I am absolutely in love with these classes, and our lovely instructor Leah! Her voice is so soothing, her instruction is so clear and precise, and her passion for Pilates is so contagious! I had never done Pilates prior to this class, and now I am thrilled to have it in my life!
I have been working out with Leah via Zoom sessions twice a week- ever since the pandemic. Its convenient, accommodating, and doable from anywhere, including travel for work or vacation. I don't miss a class!! Every class is different and challenging.
Lea is a wonderful teacher! Great classes, detailed explanations and prompts, with each class having a different emphasis. Lea knows her students well and pays attention to their needs and limitations. As an ‘unmotivated exerciser’ I started out taking 1 class/wk when it fit my schedule. Next I was taking 2 classes/wk.
Leah brings fun and joy to our Pilates lessons. She makes the excersizes challenging enough for a whole body experience and makes sure you have proper form by prompting adjustments during the lesson to prevent injury and ensure you're 'doing the work'.
Your first barre class at Tone Pilates & Barre by Leah Watts
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
