From the reviews
I've been coming to The Wave Pilates since it first opened, and I can't recommend it enough! The owner, Mel, has done an amazing job creating a community that’s not just about working out, but also about becoming a more positive, grateful, and mindful person.
The Wave Pilates is simply a wonderful environment and has helped me to increase my strength, flexibility and balance. I moved there after being part of Club Pilates. Whereas I enjoyed Club Pilates and learned a lot, their schedule didn't work for me.
I LOVE everything about The Wave! Mel (the owner) is such a sweet, genuine soul. She has created a beautiful, supportive community that brings joy to everyone that walks through the doors.
The best way to describe The Wave? The vibes are *immaculate*. Every person I have interacted with at The Wave is so kind and just radiates positivity! I found them by going to a class with a friend on a whim having never done Pilates before, and I was hooked.
Your first barre class at The Wave Pilates
New to barre? Almost everyone is their first time, and a good studio expects beginners to walk in the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: barre blends small isometric holds and tiny pulses at a ballet barre with light weights and mat work — it's low-impact and joint-friendly, but it works muscles you didn't know you had, so a little shaking in your legs is the point, not a problem. Rest whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: fitted leggings and a top you can move in — nothing baggy, so the instructor can see your form. Grip socks: most barre studios require grip socks — bring a pair or check whether they sell them at the front desk; the grippy soles keep you steady during the pulses. What to bring: water and a small towel. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. It clicks fast — most people say their third class feels completely different from their first.
